Coaching

What is coaching?

Coaching is a partnership designed to help you solve problems for yourself. Coaching stays focused on the present and future, helping you find the ground beneath your feet and your path forward. You decide what needs to be worked on and how to get there. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to explore questions and ideas. My role is to inspire new ideas or challenge existing ones as you do the work to find your way.

Note that coaching is distinct from mentoring, therapy, spiritual direction, or sports/activity coaching in that I am not providing advice or instructions. This is very much a client-driven practice where you control the direction of the sessions and your effort inside and out of the session time is what produces results.

Topics for coaching can be anything and everything in life. I do specialize in leadership, small business, LGBTQ+, and spirituality, but life is certainly not limited to those.

My approach

There are a lot of tools and techniques in the coaching world. I have a foundation in common coaching models like positive psychology, solution-focused and goal work. I also bring experience from a range of holistic models as well, including somatics (body-based), mindfulness, and the enneagram of personality. I work with people who are open to exploring self-awareness and getting new perspectives, allowing for a wide range of approaches to opening up new paths. I’m keenly aware of trauma’s effect on our lives and in coaching, both through my own experiences and through formal training.

I also follow the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics.

How to work with me

My paid coaching work is though my job at Osio Labs, which is largely focused on leadership and business coaching. Outside of that I also have a couple of spots per year that I make available for short-term pro bono (free) work and I can make arrangements for coaching barter or exchanges.

Everyone who I work with starts off with a free 30-minute chat to get to know each other. You’ll learn more about me and how I coach so we can decide if we should work together or not.

Pro Bono

Pro Bono clients are taken on for 3 free 1-hour sessions. There are very limited spots available each year, so much of the time I can’t take on new people. The inquiry form will indicate if there are open spots or not.

Barter/Exchange

For those that would like to work with me and don’t fit in a pro bono spot, I can offer exchanges for coaching. I’m open to a wide array of goods and services that can be exchanged. This can range from services like various healing modalities, consultations, coaching, etc. to goods that you produce, like knitting, art pieces, herbal remedies, etc. You can also purchase items that are on my wish list to send to me as well. None of it needs to be expensive, it’s more a matter of exchange for time and presence in some way. If you are learning a new skill and need or want to have someone to practice with, I’m also very open to that kind of exchange as well.

If you wish to talk to me about a pro bono or barter/exchange coaching arrangement, fill out the Coaching Inquiry form.

Certification

My Professional Coaching Skills Certification is through the Institute of Coaching Studies, which qualifies me for the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation once I log the required coaching hours.

Additionally, I have the following certificates:
