I have been working on more Drupal projects as of late and in the last month or so I have finally followed up with getting more involved in the community. My only previous experience with an OS community was the time I spent working with the Apache Forrest project. I found that to be aContinueContinue reading “Community”

I’ve been busy!
Sorry about the lack of updates. I just added a bunch of pictures and we are really close to being done now. We have heat and electricity in the addition as well as basement insulation which are all very welcome now that we are getting lows in the teens at night. The bathroom is comingContinueContinue reading “I’ve been busy!”
So close
We are so very close to being done here. All of the electrical is done and we have one more trip out by the plumber to finish the bathroom and switch us over to the new water heater. Then it is mainly clean up and punch list stuff along with us finishing up painting andContinueContinue reading “So close”
Added some more pictures for the house
Well, it has been a while since I have updated. I have added a bunch more pictures to bring us up to the present. Today the bathroom tile and floor heat is being installed and next week we will get plumbing and electrical in the basement done, including the necessary stuff to get the furnaceContinueContinue reading “Added some more pictures for the house”
A very Drupally day to ya
I’ve been crazy busy with a major addition/renovations to my house along with wall to wall freelance work, not to mention the holidays which always seem to chew me up and spit me out. So this is a short and sweet post to mark two big things I’m pretty happy about. Firstly, today is Drupal’sContinueContinue reading “A very Drupally day to ya”
Crawlspace Cleanup
In the midst of all of the addition happenings we are also doing a few things to the existing house as well. The day after Thanksgiving we had Floodbusters come out and clean up the crawlspace. Our crawl normally has water in it after rain and is generally a nasty, moist place. We had itContinueContinue reading “Crawlspace Cleanup”
We’re starting to look like a real house
I’ve got some more pictures up that show the addition with siding. It’s only partially sided yet but the more important bit is that the roof connection has been done and tar-papered. We are getting rain (with flood warnings) today and at least it won’t be getting into the addition.
House Setting
Wow. The addition was set on the foundation today. It was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time. The first guys showed up around 7:30 a.m. to start preparing, the crane came around 10:45 a.m. and the boxes (the addition itself) arrived at 11:30 a.m. The last of the big trucksContinueContinue reading “House Setting”
Ack, I’m a Mac convert
Getting my new MacBook Pro has been a much longer story than it ever should have been and I’m not going to go into all of the gory details. It started by ordering one online and then two days later Apple announced the release of the new Core 2 Duo. Eh, hey that is aContinueContinue reading “Ack, I’m a Mac convert”
House Update
Here is an update on the addition project for those following along. I’ve been adding pictures to the gallery but not really talking about what all is happening. Today they are backfilling the basement and putting the “escape hatch” into place (my contractor laughed when he saw that since in building speak it is calledContinueContinue reading “House Update”
